First off we want to again say THANK YOU to all of you for helping us make Ars Victor a reality. We hope you’ve enjoyed playing the game with friends and family as much as we have. With the help of the Kickstarter and our savings accounts we were able to get Ars Victor LE mass produced and delivered, as well as a few of the extras we promised, but we realize we have fallen short big time.
We’re very sorry it has taken us so long to deliver all of the extras and we’re grateful for your patience with us. As you already know we vastly underestimated the cost to produce and deliver the game with the extras we promised. We lost a couple of employees, which made it difficult to deliver anything, and the geographic distances between all of us made playtesting new features slow and expensive. Finally, we ran out of money, which made a tough situation even more difficult. That said, we’re determined to make it right.
Here’s what we’re doing to change things. We’ve hired a Producer tasked with getting you the stuff we promised from our Kickstarter as well as resolving any other issues that may have slipped through the cracks. Dave Lowe, a former Ars Victor playtester himself, will be the new guy answering all distress calls sent to firstname.lastname@example.org so look to hear from him a lot more. To facilitate development on the remaining expansions, we’ve imported Ars Victor into Tabletop Simulator, available in the Steam Workshop, and we’re going to be running playtests in the coming weeks and months. We’ve started a new Steam Group to coordinate these events and we’d love to have your input on our products moving forward.
Ars Victor Expansions Update
Fields of Blood
Fields of Blood is our main focus of development right now. We’ve been going through several iterations of design and we’re just about ready for a beta rollout. Our primary playtesting environment for Fields of Blood will be using Tabletop Simulator on Steam and we hope you’ll be able to join in the fun. Playtesting will be happening this fall!
Tour of Duty
Our last playtests of Tour of Duty showed us some major balance issues that need to be worked out. To make sure we deliver the best possible expansion, we’ve decided to continue development on Tour of Duty after we have released our Fields of Blood tiles. This will ensure that when Tour of Duty is publically released, it will be compatible with all available pieces and components in Ars Victor.
Remaining Kickstarter Goodies
You should have already received an email from us with updates on the remaining items you are owed. Please check your inboxes/spam folders to see if you got one. If you didn’t hear from us this weekend, please reach out directly to us at email@example.com and we’ll get you sorted out.
If we forgot about something you’re owed or you have any other issues regarding Ars Victor, please let us know! The quickest way to get ahold of us is by email, and we welcome your feedback.
We really appreciate the support you’ve given us and the patience you’ve shown with us as we get back on track and grow from a 2-man company into a 4-man company! Thank you so much for being a part of this great community!
